Following the outbreak of COVID-19 in the UK, we have all faced significant changes in our day-to-day lives that pose difficult challenges. In particular, the decision to close schools in Wales and the rest of the UK for the children of non-keyworkers has forced both parents and children to adapt to self-isolation at home. As a result, stress and anxiety in both parents and children are expected to increase as we collectively try to make the best of our current situation. While we do not have the power to change this situation or how long it will last, we do have control over how we respond to it. The Sport for life team are introducing a new weekly competition starting Monday 11th May. Every week they will set a new challenge and we ask for short videos of the child/children completing this challenge. Parents / guardians of pupils eligible for free school meals
The The Council intends to start a system of direct payments into the bank accounts of parents / guardians of pupils eligible for free school meals after the Easter holidays. The total payment will be £ 19.50 per child, per week. Hopefully the first payment will be made on 20 April, and then weekly. You'll get an email from pay@gwynedd.llyw.cymru or a letter next week asking you to provide information along with their bank details on the Council's website
